Special thanks to our participating guests for Session 12 - 10 Years After - The Lessons of Fifth Forbes including Rob Stephany (Executive Director, Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh), Bernie Lynch and Pat Clark (Fifth/Forbes community activists), moderated by Chris Potter (Editor, Pittsburgh City Paper).

Thanks as well to John Paul Jones, Director of the Governor’s Southwest Office for his assistance in finding us a swell location within the Fifth/Forbes footprint - right at Ground Zero, as it were. Here are a few resources:

WHAT? Councilman Bill Peduto’s Guyasuta Fellowship Program, a policy forum for young people and citizens who want a voice in creating public policy, will engage experts and move policy from community needs to informed and actionable recommendations that link the green economy to neighborhood priorities. This year’s Fellowship specifically addresses the green economy for Pittsburgh’s disadvantaged and underserved communities. WHY? We are at a clear point of opportunity for leveraging the success of the Recovery Act to grow a green economy and better meet community and regional needs. We can only create inclusive and sustainable communities by demanding equity, green jobs, and government accountability that make best possible outcomes for Recovery Act funding. WHO? The Fellowship requests young and committed residents of Western PA who are determined to live in the region for at least the next two years to five years to join in. Thanks to our Session 10 presenters, Tom Hoffman of Clean Water Action and Rachel Canning of Pittsburgh UNITED. Also, special thanks to all our volunteers and partners who participated in our Larimer Community Civic Census on Saturday March 13. Our street team knocked on almost 200 doors and compiled 60 community responses. Check out our initial survey outcomes at this link and streetlists Set 1, Set 2, Set 3, Set 4, Set 5, Set 6, Set 7 and Set 8.
