Voter Intimidation in Scranton
Police presence is often used as a form of voter intimidation because it can be very effective in that regard. With that in mind, we have a report from a voter in Scranton at SCRANTON W-17 P-1, at the EVERHART MUSEUM AT NAY AUG PARK that an armed state constable is stationed by the doorway of the polling place- and is very intimidating.
Problems have also been encountered in Brookhaven, Delaware County at TOBY FARMS ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION, POWELL & ALBERT ROAD, where a voter has reported that constables are driving in the vicinity of the polling place.
Wilkes-Barre, Wayne County and Lackawana County callers are also reporting that constables contracted for the day from the PA State Police (according to the Lackawana County Sherriff’s office) and that constables have had an intimidating impact on voters. Election Protection attorneys are contacting the Pennsylvania State Police for clarification on their orders.
